To klmo5.
My husband and I are pretty new to the mobile kitchen truck business in Oregon. (although he has had previous experience running a hot dog cart business some years ago). My husband, Russ, is still working an outside job until we can transition into our retirement job.
Weve worked our local, community festival the past two years and the local Bite. Were going to focus on a few scheduled warehouse district runs. Meanwhile we have a couple company catering jobs were doing. But with the full kitchen truck, we have our commissary right with us! (and we bring leftovers around to homeless camps in our area).
The county fairs have waiting lists for food vendors. But theyre too long and intense for us so we havent signed up for a spot.
As far as seminars, I dont know about those. Do you have a Website link to information? They could be legit and full of worthwhile info --- or not.
Continue with your research (this forum wasnt available when I was researching) including legalities, vendors, and commissaries; do a business plan; and get your financials in order.
