My husband and I have finally decided to start our own business. He will stay working full time at his job and I will probably "retire" to work the business. We want to do concessions, but our friends and family keep discouraging us-saying we will turn into "carnie bums", etc. We are both willing to work hard and have three kids who are more than willing to help. Is it better to start with one small trailer with one food item or should you go for broke and enter into it with both feet. Also, as we live in Ohio, do we begin looking for trailers now at the end of the season or wait until spring for the beginning of the season. Have found seminars for approx. $500.00 to "learn the business" - waste of time and money? Help me. I really want to do this.
